I have a DVR for connected to cameras for security surveillance how can I connect this to my wireless network.?
The DVR has a ethernet port and a usb data port. It is in the basement so I do not want to run a cable.
Is the DVR accessible by IP address? Or is the "ethernet" port only for firmware updates, etc. (a service port only)?
If the DVR is accessible by IP, how do you program the IP address into it? If youi know, and have already done it, then you can think about adding some wireless client box (or a router running in client mode), and have it connect to your main router. From there, your PCs can access the DVR.
Still, without knowing if this DVR can actually connect over IP to some PC software, hard to say if you can actually do this....
